First and Last day in Milan

@Mc Donald’s, Duomo, 15:45.
After sleeping 10 hours to charge our batteries, we got up to get ready for one more adventure, this time in the centre of Milan.
For breakfast we tried bread with tachini and honey, typically Persian and some cheese from Iran!

Unfortunately for us, the weather is really crap today, raining all day long! But we won’t give up until we see all that’s worth seeing in Milan! Until now, we have been in Castello, the big park across and Duomo. It’s time to have a break and eat some classic junk food!

Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II

The weather got worse every minute so we stayed at the Gallery (where all the expensive shoppes are) until the storm was over. We got even hail!!

Later at home we ate some of M.s “halva” and started talking about religion things, Koran, the bible. It was really interesting to see how other people think of god, what their believes are, what Allah says. It got me curious about Koran, it probably worth reading it.
Later we had Persian dinner once again, some rise with a nice sauce and meat and got ready for departure. Our plane leaves in the early morning so had to spend the night at the airport. This was NOT as easy as it seems, specially when a guy driving the “cleaning vehicle” tries to drive over you!

Milan is a nice city to visit, but only if you stay there for a short time! Castello and the Cathedral Duomo di Milano are the most popular and worth seeing sightseeings, but appart from that, there isn’t anything special. Strolling around the city is also nice (but not really when it rains hail!!!)

I think I liked Bergamo more, the upper town was amazing and the view spectacular.

As a conclution for these short holidaysI would say that Ryanair and couchsurfing achieve to beat racism more than any other organisation or goverment in the world.

Day 1 in Bergamo

Πρώτη οφίσιαλ μέρα στο Bergamo και ξυπνησαμε το πρωι γεμάτοι ενθουσιασμό να εξερευνήσουμε την πόλη! Ο J. Μας πρόσφερε “μάτε” (κάτι σαν τσάι) το οποίο ήταν σκόνη χορτου (μην παει το μυαλο αλλου..!) και λέει
ότι έχει πολλές βιταμίνες για να ξεκινήσεις την μερα σου αντι να πιεις καφε. Έχω να πω πως ηταν.. απαισιο :Ρ

Ξεκινήσαμε λοιπόν για την παλιά πόλη, η οποία βρίσκεται σε μεγαλύτερο υψόμετρο απο το κέντρο. Στην πορεία σταματησαμε για παραδοσιακό ιταλικό πρωινο σε ένα πολυ όμορφο μαγαζάκι όπου στα τραπεζάκια ηταν φυτεμενα λουλούδια επάνω.! (θα ανεβασω φωτογραφίες όταν τις περάσω απο την κάμερα )
Φτάνοντας στην παλιά πόλη Η θέα ηταν συγκλονιστικά όμορφη..! Συνεχίσαμε να ανεβαινουνε μέχρι που φτάσαμε σε ένα απο τα υψηλότερα σημεία όπου μπορούσες να δεις οποιοδήποτε σημειο της πόλης! Εκπληκτική θέα, αξίζει το κόπο του ανεβασματος!

Έψαχνα απελπισμένα να βρω μαγαζί που να πουλάει paches για την συλλογή μου, χωρίς όμως επιτυχία..
Τέλος, ψώνησαμε και μαγείρεψαμε μια λαχτάριστη καρμποναρα για να κατευνασουμε την πείνα μας..! Train to Milan, and here we are!
Μια κουβέντα είναι όμως.. Μετά απο αρκετή ώρα περιπλανομενοι στο μετρό-τρένα του Μιλανου, καταφέραμε να βρούμε τον couchsurfer που μας φιλοξενεί. Ο M. με την κοπέλα του μας ετοίμασαν ένα ωραίο ιρανικό φαγητό με μελιτζανα, τόνους σκορδου, γιαούρτι και καρύδια. Λολ;! Κι όμως! Κάτι σαν μελιτζανοσαλατα σε ψωμί.!

Αύριο το προγραμμα λέει κέντρο Μιλανου και ότι προκύψει! Καληνύχτα!!
Μαγδαλενα πες την μαμα ότι είμαι καλα και ότι σαν τον μουσακά της δεν έχει..!

Day 0 in Bergamo

We arrived late at night, but half an hour ahead of your schedule (Ryanair of course!) in the city of Bergamo. Our couch surfer picked us up from the train station and we went on foot to his
apartment. He is a really nice guy from Poland. He gave us his room to sleep!

The first meal was of course mc Donald’s..! And then, what else..? Kebap!
And one more thing I was wondering: YES – they throw the toilet paper IN the toilet!
Today we are going to explore Bergamo and take a train later in the afternoon to Milan!

26-28 of May, one of the best trips I ever made! Thank’s to Ryanair!!! I hope that guy “Ryan” be fine

Rome, for anyone who is contemplating to go there, is a fabulous city! Each building has it’s own beauty. In every square (piazza ) there is a funtain, there is water everywhere in the city! And drinkable! There are many spots where you can fill up your bottle (cause water it’s more expensive than coca-cola there!)

One thing that really surprised me is that all the streets are made of πλακάκια (I don’t know how to say it english.. small square stones at least ) πλακόστρωτοι τέλος πάντων, πίσσα πουθενά! Αυτό δίνει άλλη εικόνα σε ολόκληρη την πόλη. Πιο όμορφη.

Just arrived in Rome. The temperature is so high, I will definitely need a hat! Got on the bus and now heading to the centrum of Rome!!!

Finally sat down to eat in piazza de navona.. I am starving! I saw so many ancient things and the most of them without knowing what the are..! The pantheon was amazing, bigger than I thought! The colloceoum was exciting, but not as I thought it would be! I lost myself many times in the city, but thanks to my perfect navigation skills and the map I found my way!! The pantheon was the most difficult to find.. Everything is beautiful. Mollto benne! Now let’s just EAT!

It was just great.. I am full and ready to sleep! But not yet, I’ll make the next and final plan for today

Came to the hostel. I am not tired, my feet just hurt..! And it’s so fucking worm in here.. Next to my bed is the fridge and it’s making an annoying noise.. I am not sure if I will manage to sleep. I guess I have to get more tired!! The part of the city that I saw today was wonderful.. So many funtains. I could live in Rome.

1st. DAY:

Colosseo – arco di constantino – campidoglio – traiana – piazza colonna – pantheon – piazza navona – Fontana di trevi – piazza di spagna – piazza de la repubblica

Beginning of day 2! I am full of energy again and I am going to see the Vatican!

Resting at piazza de popolo (square of the people). The Vatican was magnificent and the ceremony inside the church was very nice. Now I am more tired than yesterday! I have to find a cool place and eat.

Sitting in front of fori imperialli, I ate at mac donalds, bought all the souvenirs, went again to the pantheon, to piazza de navona. I crossed the river many times and went to Trastevere and to the small island in the mddle of the river, the Isola. I laid down next to the river it was really nice. Now I will meet the others at the termini station

At the termini station waiting for the others. I hope we’ll take a bus wherever we go, cause I don’t feel my feet any more! And my knees are crashed!! I ate Rome with the spoon these days, and it was a wonderful experience.. Bella Roma! Bella Italia!

At the aeroporti ciampino waiting for the airplane. It was a fantastic trip, I loved it and I would like to do this again! I spent all my money, i have only 1.10€!! I am looking forward to give the presents and send the cards. Arivederci Roma!!
